KOARP protest the inhumane euthanisation of stray dogs in Duhok

On behalf of all animal organisations and animal lovers across our country we protested the cull programmes taking place in Kurdistan.

Stray dogs have been mass killed across the Sinjar and Snone/Mosul province using inhumane and outdated techniques, including poison and distant shooting. We are horrified that the government continues to allow this under Iraqi law 48 and we implore them to instead deal with the stray population using evidence based methods.

Trap, neuter release programmes have been proven to work and would be a humane and effective way to manage the stray population.
