KOARP celebrates World Animal Day and welcomes some unusual patients!
Updated: Feb 6, 2022
In October we celebrated World Animal Day and met a few particularly special animals
It was time for World Animal Day 2021 and we were delighted to be involved. This day falls on 4th October every year, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Events take place around the world to highlight animal rights and welfare issues. Dr Tameer got the chance to meet with some enthusiastic students and celebrate this important day.
We also saw some unusual patients this month. A badger that had been caught in a hunters trap was brought in. Luckily he had no broken bones and is now recovering in our rehabilitation unit in Duhok zoo. Dr Tameer also treated a python for the first time in his career!
